LATHAM

A NEW DOCUMENTARY FROM
PRODUCER KIM RODERIQUES and DIRECTOR GEOFFREY BASSETT

Thursday, June 18
5:00 p.m.

An intimate portrait of the nationally recognized Latham Centers, leaders in specialized education and therapeutic care for children and adults with disabilities and home to the world’s largest children’s program serving individuals with Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS), a rare genetic condition affecting approximately 1 in 18,000 births.

With deeply personal perspectives from students, families and staff, the film reveals a community shaped by resilience, and captures the quiet strength found in routine and the bonds formed through consistency and the deep commitment required each day.

Featuring insight from Dr. Patrice Carroll, LICSW, DSW, Director of PWS Services at Latham Centers, it explores both the challenges and triumphs experienced by those connected to Latham Centers. Latham invites audiences to witness the power of belonging and reveals what it means to be fully seen and understood.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion led by Stacy Ward, M.S., BCBA, CEO of PWSAUSA, offering additional perspective on the film and the broader PWS community.

Proceeds from the event will directly support
Latham Centers and its life-changing programs.

THE HAND THAT HOLDS THE LINE

PROCEEDS TO BENEFIT THE CAPE COD COMMERCIAL FISHERMEN’S ALLIANCE

Thursday, June 25 SOLD OUT
6:00 p.m.

Fishermen live a life that’s deeply connected to nature, shaped by the rhythm of the tides, the temperament of the sea, and the unpredictability of the catch. Their work is both physically demanding and emotionally rewarding, often driven more by passion than profit.

The Hand That Holds The Line, a new documentary by Geoff C. Bassett and Kim Roderiques, shines a light on Cape Cod fishermen who have devoted their lives to one of the most challenging and dangerous professions in the world.

Support Your Local Nonprofit Theater!

When donors chose to invest in this building and this community, they didn't just restore a theater. They gave kids their first movie experience — free of charge. They gave seniors a place to gather. They gave children who experience the world a little differently a sensory friendly screening designed just for them. They gave local nonprofits a stage to raise their voices as well as their funds. They brought the art of cinema — foreign films, classics, documentaries about the greatest painters and sculptors who ever lived — right here to Chatham.

And, perhaps most importantly, they gave independent filmmakers somewhere to be seen. Artists who didn't fit the studio mold, who made something honest and brave and couldn't get it on a multiplex screen — they found an audience here.

Because of you.

If you've supported the Orpheum before, thank you — deeply and genuinely. You are the reason the marquee is still lit. If you're considering your first gift, know that it lands somewhere real. It introduces the magic of cinema to a child. It celebrates the history of film. It becomes a filmmaker's first standing ovation. It becomes another chapter in a story that started in 1916 and, with your help, still remains to be written.
